Handledarkurs? Risk 1?
In order to get your Swedish driver’s license, you are required to attend a number of mandatory courses before attempting your theory and driving exams. Luckily, we have you sorted!

What is an Intro/Handledarkurs?
A handledarkurs (also known as a ‘supervisor course’ or ‘introduction course’) is a mandatory 3-hour course for those who wish to learn to drive privately at home with a supervisor. Both the student and the assigned supervisor (‘handledare’) must take a handledarkurs before driving together.
You do not need to take this course if you are only learning to drive with a professional driving school.
We offer a handledarkurs in English in many of the cities we operate in.
What is a Risk 1 course?
Risk 1 (or ‘Riskettan’) is the first part of a mandatory, two-part Risk Education that all drivers must complete before attempting their theory and driving exams.
Risk 1 is the theoretical component and is hosted by a professional driving instructor, with max 16 students.
We offer Risk 1 in English in many of the cities we operate in.
What is a Risk 2 course?
Risk 2 (also known as ‘the halkbana’) is the second part of the mandatory Risk Education that all drivers must pass in order to get a driver’s license in Sweden.
This component is practical and held at specialised facilities, which you can book through us. The objective is to learn how best to deal with dangerous situations when losing control of a car. During winter, the conditions on the road become treacherous and you will likely experience the car skidding. Risk 1 in English prepares you for these moments so you can be as safe as possible.
Note: you should not attempt to do your Risk 2 in English course until you are at least two-thirds of the way through your education. You will need to be able to comfortably drive a car in order to complete the course.
